Burn Camp
The Northeast Indiana Burn Council strongly supports sending children that have been burned to a verified burn camp. At Burn Camp the kids get to be kids; they enjoy all aspects of camp -- hiking, swimming, camping, etc. -- without the constant worry of awkward stares and questions. For that week, they get to be just kids and not burn victims.
No child is ever asked to pay for Burn Camp, estimated by the Hoosier Burn Camp to cost $1,000/child. Therefore, while burn camps hold their own fundraisers, the Northeast Indiana Burn Council will raise the funds for as many children as possible from Northern Indiana, SW Ohio and SE Michigan.
