While we know that no matter how hard we try, people will be burned. But, we also know that most burns are caused by accidents, either carelessness or ignorance.

We therefore plan to be community advocates to prevent burns. We may partner with existing organizations and efforts, including the Fort Wayne Fire Department, Safe Kids Committee and the Juvenile Firestarters Task Force, or we may initiate our own plans to advocate safety and prevent injuries.

Our plans are still in the early stages, but we hope to market the following Prevention & Advocacy issues in our area:

• Fireworks Safety
• Flames & Combustibles
• Develop DVD for Public Presentations
• Develop DVD for Middle and High School education
